FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Simply reach out to us with any questions whatsoever. Let us us know your vision, and we will quickly develop a plan for your dream adventure.

What do you mean by “bespoke” tours?

Most of our tours are completely custom designed after meeting with clients and discussing timing, cost, activities, etc. This usually happens when we have a group of 6 or larger that is all traveling together. For couples and single travelers we will add you to a pre-planned itinerary. Group sizes are usually between 6 to 12 guests.

How does the billing process work?

To secure your booking, we request a 35% – 45% down payment (depending on the tour and our upfront costs like gorilla permits). The remaining balance to be paid 90 days before departure.

What countries do you travel to?

We specialize in the East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, plus Madagascar. But we also travel to unique wildlife locations around the world such as the Peruvian Amazon, Brazilian Pantanal, Falkland Islands, Borneo and more.

What if I want to take my own photos?

Absolutely, Sean loves both teaching and/or simply shooting alongside other enthusiastic photographers. Rest assured, we will always get you into the best possible light and find the best angles for amazing compositions.

What kind of vehicles are used on safari?

We use only custom-built, open-air 4×4 Land Cruisers (or similar high-quality safari vehicles) designed specifically for wildlife viewing. These vehicles offer an unbeatable combination of comfort, visibility, and rugged off-road capability. With open sides or pop-up roofs—depending on the location and park regulations—you’ll have unobstructed views in every direction, perfect for photography and fully immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. Each vehicle is equipped with plenty of space, individual seats, and often charging ports and a cooler for drinks, ensuring a comfortable ride even on long game drives. We work exclusively with experienced driver-guides who know the terrain, the animals, and how to position the vehicle for the best possible experience.

When is the best time to travel to East Africa?

There’s truly no bad time to visit East Africa—each season offers something unique, and wildlife viewing remains excellent year-round. Thanks to its location on the equator, temperatures are remarkably consistent, with daytime highs typically ranging from 78 to 82°F (25 to 28°C). The main factor to consider is rainfall. The long rains (usually March through May) can render some roads muddy or impassable, but storms often arrive in dramatic afternoon bursts or pass through overnight, leaving much of the day sunny. During this time, the landscapes are at their lushest, skies are moody and cinematic, and crowds are few. November’s short rains offer a beautiful balance—vivid green backdrops, striking sunsets, and incredible photographic skies, with far less disruption to travel. The long dry season (June to October) is the most popular time to visit, with reliably clear skies and easier wildlife spotting around water sources. However, the dry season also brings dust and more tourists. Ultimately, the best time depends on your priorities—whether that’s dramatic scenery, fewer crowds, guaranteed sun, or lush, green landscapes.
